What We Do:

Media

Publicize and share events through social media. Create graphics with Adobe programs in order to share information about upcoming events and announcements. Work on creating and advertising merchandise such as stickers, t-shirts, and more. Projects include creating flyers and banners and our annual viscous bulk and yearbook.

Social

Works on facilitating bonding between AIChE members and College of Chemistry students throughout the semester. Done through planning and leading social events and fundraisers such as casual inter-committee socials, Fall Festival, and CoC Ball.

Outreach

Outreach works on professional development by hosting resume workshops, research seminars, and teaching technical skills development. They also host events such as lab tours, coffee chats with professors, and other industry outreach events. Outreach also specializes in reaching out to the transfer community and promoting awareness of the chemical engineering profession through K-12 outreach.

Corporate

Corporate connects current College of Chemistry students to the industry by hosting networking and professional development events. These events include info sessions, plant tours (on hold due to COVID 19), resume workshops, and Zooming with Startups (formerly Dining with Startups). Corporate also works on securing corporate sponsorships and building connections with alumni.

Black Lives Matter

The UC Berkeley AIChE student chapter condemns police brutality and racism against Black people and supports the Black Lives Matter movement. There is no place for discrimination of any kind on our campus, and we pledge to stand up for our fellow students.

As a student-led organization, we seek to empower our fellow students and we cannot stand still while our country is fighting for transformation. We encourage everyone to learn more about the oppression and discrimination our Black peers have faced throughout history and in their everyday lives. We also encourage our members to donate if it is within your means to, to sign petitions demanding justice, and to speak out for and listen to the Black community. It is not enough to be silently non-racist - join us in learning to be actively anti-racist.
